Nature inspired silver jewellery designed and made by Caroline Cowen at her workshop in Hertfordshire.

I studied Applied Arts at University, and for most of the course specialised in textiles, however in my final year I realised that it was always jewellery I ended up creating. I began working with metals for my final project and since graduating have been learning new techniques and setting up my workshop at my home in Hertfordshire.

I design and make quirky contemporary silver jewellery which is inspired by illustration and a love of the natural world. Flowers and birds and other creatures are often the focus of my work.

I have recently been exploring the use of gold in my work through the ancient Korean technique of Keum Boo where sheets of 24ct gold are fused onto silver. I often use semi precious stones to add colour, and add detailing to the work through techniques such as stamping, reticulation, texturing and oxidising.

I really enjoy taking on special commissions, so please get in touch if you can't find what you are looking for, and hopefully we can create it!
